Virtual HDD

Virtual HDD at Ucloud is flexible disk space for virtual environments, ideal for backup, archiving and data storage.

What are additional virtual HDDs?

Additional vHDD is a service enabling quick and flexible expansion of disk space in virtual environments. It involves connecting additional disk volumes to virtual machines or backup systems without the need to expand the physical infrastructure. The solution is particularly useful when the demand for space for backups, data archiving or application file storage increases. vHDD is fully compatible with popular backup systems, including Veeam, and can be used in a local or hybrid model.

FAQ

Virtual HDD (vHDD) are additional physical drives made available within the Ucloud cloud infrastructure. They are used to easily and quickly expand disk space in existing virtual environments.
The vHDD service is only available to customers using the Ucloud cloud. vHDD is not offered as a standalone service and requires an active cloud environment.
Currently, two capacity variants are available: 8 TB and 10 TB. This allows you to adjust the size of the disk space to your actual needs, without the need to invest in extensive storage solutions.
vHDD is most often used as additional space for backups, backup repositories (e.g. for Veeam), data archiving and expansion of existing volumes in virtual environments.
vHDD launches within the existing Ucloud cloud environment. Disks are connected to virtual machines and managed in the same way as other disk resources, without the need for additional installations or architecture changes.
